The Contracting Industry Redundancy Trust (CIRT) is the redundancy fund for the electrical construction industry in Queensland and the Northern Territory. Each month, employers make payments to CIRT as per registered indrustrial instruments. CIRT holds these contributions in trust such time as an employee is made redundant and makes a claim.

CIRT also provides employment termination payments when an employees employment is terminated for reasons other than redundancy (Tax and other conditions apply).

CIRT may also be able to provided funding assistance for training through JETCO.

The Joint Electrical Training Council (JETCO) is the training subsidy program associated with CIRT.

If you are an employee and your employer makes monthly contributions to CIRT and to the JETCO training fund on your behalf, you may be entitled to a subsidy for approved industry based training.

As an employer who makes monthly contributions on behalf of their employees to CIRT and JETCO, you may also be eligible for training subsidies from JETCO to assist in maintaining or upgrading the electrical industry related skills of your workforce.

All you need to do is enrol in a recognised training module/program that is approved by JETCO and forward a copy of your payment receipt, completion certificate and completed claim form to JETCO by email, fax or post.
